Booking Information and Conditions

The small print – but it is important, so do read it!

General

Every contract for a holiday with ‘Libertas’, made between the Owners and those persons listed on the booking form (hereinafter known as the Charterers) shall be subject to the following booking conditions.

Insurance

The yacht is covered by fully comprehensive insurance, but does not cover personal loss, medical expenses, cancellation. You are strongly advised in your own interest to obtain adequate personal, medical and travel insurance. Make sure that your cover includes being on a charter yacht.  The Owners/Skipper bear no responsibility for medical and associated charges incurred by the Charterers or for unforseen weather conditions & delays caused by outside forces.

Making a Booking

Please contact us with any queries, or to discuss your particular requirements, dates of holidays etc. We will then be able to offer you a quote for your holiday; when you are ready, the payment of a 20% deposit will secure confirmation of your holiday. The balance is due three weeks prior to the date of your arrival.

Please note: The charterer(s) are responsible for ensuring they allow for any inter-bank transfer charges.

Cancellation

Should you be unfortunate enough to have to cancel your holiday, we will endeavour to sell it on for you, and if successful a full refund will be made, less any costs incurred.  Cancellation to be effective must be made in writing and will be calculated from the date notification is received.  We will accept substitution/s of members of the party.

We reserve the right to claim cancellation charges calculated on the following scale:

More than 3 weeks prior to the first day of the holiday   -   20% of full fee

Less than 3 weeks prior to the first day of the holiday     -   50% of full fee

Less than 1 week prior to the first day of the holiday       -    No Refund

NB:  If you have taken out a suitable travel insurance you will be able to claim the full amount of the cancellation charges under the conditions set out within its terms.

Larger Groups

Four guests is the maximum that can be comfortably accommodated on ‘Libertas’.  For larger groups there are other possibilities – either we can arrange to charter a larger boat, or we can take a second boat and then sail together, meeting up again whenever we anchor or moor for the night.  Tell us what you would like, and we will see what we can do; generally the cost of such an arrangement would be based on our normal rate for two, three or four people, calculated as appropriate. Please ask for a quote.

Onboard the yacht:

Bedding and Laundry

Blankets, pillows & linen are supplied. Clients are required to bring their own personal towels. Beach towels are provided.

Food and Drink

Full healthy breakfast and lunch are included in the price of the holiday. Other food and alcoholic drinks consumed on board are the responsibility of the charterers & we will assist you to purchase these locally before we set sail.

If you have any strong dietary preferences or requirements, medical or personal, could you please let us know in advance.

Skipper and Hostess

The skipper and hostess are responsible for the safe conduct of the charter party and yacht; they reserve the right to make all final decisions pertaining to the management and running of the yacht and to the itinerary, passage-making, anchoring, mooring and over-night stops. They alone, shall decide whether or not a passage shall be made, and have the right to withdraw any member/s of the charter party who refuse to comply with their decisions in such a way as to in their opinion; jeopardise the safety or well-being of any member of the crew or of the yacht. In this event the owners shall have no further liability to the persons concerned. (Does that sound suitably intimidating?)

Yacht availability

Should the yacht not be available before your arrive through no fault of the owners, the owners reserve the right to substitute an alternative yacht, of similar type and facilities. If this alternative is not available, then a full refund will be made to you.

Breakdowns

The owners will make every endeavour to ensure that the yacht and its equipment are always in good condition; however we cannot guarantee that failures and breakdowns will not occur. We will always do as much as possible to carry out repairs quickly and efficiently. In any event the owners shall not be liable for any loss, delay or inconvenience caused to the charterers, due to any reason beyond their control.
